In January 1992 local attorney Larry F. Shafer started the local office of Ohio Title with two other employees. The Ohio Title branch in Johnstown grew with the community and Shafer added Amy (Hills) Albery, a local community member, as his business partner.

In April 2003, Shafer and Albery opened a satellite location in New Albany to serve the needs of their New Albany and Franklin County clients.
